This program is designed to graduate multi-skilled professionals, who will serve as medical assistants in a doctor’s office, clinic, or hospital. They can assist physicians with in-office medical procedures, schedule appointments, and bill patients, as well as take vital signs, perform phlebotomies, and EKGs, and assume roles in administration procedures. The Medical Assistant is an integral member of the healthcare team, a vital link between doctor and patient.


Students will be trained through theoretical lectures, laboratory practices, and external activities, in the areas of communication, legal and ethical responsibilities, administrative and clinical duties, concept of health and disease, anatomy and physiology, medications, administration and dosage calculations, disinfection and sterilization procedures. Students will learn how to perform basic nursing procedures under medical supervision, phlebotomy, collection of samples, EKGs, X-rays, and the proper methods to prepare, organize and maintain medical records, select the appropriate diagnostic procedures and codes, process the insurance date and claims, develop and maintain billing and collections, creation of systems and documents using Medical Office software.
